Full Circle Obedience School classes
Our mission at Full Circle Obedience School is to help dog owners build good relationships with their companions through correct structure and communication. We teach you how to train your dog to respond to the first command even when distracted! Our professional, and positive based classes are the key to happy dogs and happy owners. We use motivational techniques balanced with fair corrections that encourage the utmost in willingness from your dog. The majority of Full Circle Obedience School classes are one hour in length. You will attend one class per week for six weeks, and you will attend each class with your dog. The fee for most classes is $115.00.
Kinder Pup – This class will provide the youngest K9 member of your family some valuable experience with people and other puppies. Your puppy will be introduced to walking on a leash, learn to respond to his name, begin learning some impulse control, and gently be exposed to good manners. You will learn about socialization, solving issues like mouthing, housebreaking, nutrition, and other puppy needs. This is not a formal obedience class, however you will learn some exercises appropriate for your young puppy. Your puppy’s first adventures should be fun and safe so to provide your puppy with a great experience so class size is limited. This class is for puppies between the age of 12 and 20 weeks. A minimum of two Parvo immunizations are required to enroll in this class. Puppy - This class is an excellent foundation for all dogs whether they will be * If your puppy participates in a Full Circle Obedience class it will be provided a strong foundation which will enable it to progress much faster than pups attending training at other schools. After graduating from Puppy class your K9 friend will be eligible to attend Basic Manners II. Contact your training instructor for more information. Puppy Buddy class - Enroll two puppies in the same class and save on the cost of the enrollment fee for each puppy. Complete an enrollment form for each puppy. Be sure to designate you are enrolling in the "puppy buddy" program. Drop-in conformation -This is a drop-in class for all levels from “never been in the ring” to those accustomed to being in the group ring. Ronda is a former successful, professional handler of a variety of breeds with more than twenty years experience. Showing in the conformation ring requires as much dog and handler training as any other dog sport and knowledge of the rules and AKC point system. Junior handlers are welcome in this class. There is a $10.00 fee per class payable by cash or check on the dates you attend. Basic Obedience and Home Manners - Does your dog drag you on your walks? Does she dash out the front door and flatten guests, or run away when you call him? Does he still bite your hands or clothes in play? You need this class! The Basic Obedience and Home Manners class is for dogs 7 months of age and over. After graduating from Basic Obedience and Home Manners class your K9 friend will be eligible to attend Basic Manners II. Contact your training instructor for more information. Basic Obedience and Home Manners II- This class is for dogs that have completed the Puppy Class or the Basic Obedience and Home Manners class. The Basic Obedience and Home Manners class will include advanced heeling exercises including heeling with eye-contact attention, AKC Rally Obedience instruction, off-leash stays with distractions, dog to dog interaction with impulse control and manners, a fast moving drop or down exercise, and an introduction to jumping obstacles. This is a great class to prepare a dog for competition work for obedience or Rally, a preparatory class for agility, or for the experience needed to make the Canine Good Citizen (CGC)/Therapy Dog Certification class an easier experience for the impulsive, or energetic dog. This is a class for all dogs, and their owners, who want and need the next challenging step. Mid-Morning Manners - This class is a combination of Puppy and Basic Obedience and Manners class for those who prefer a weekday class rather than evening or weekends and their dog has not yet been to school. After graduating from Basic Obedience and Home Manners class your K9 friend will be eligible to attend Basic Manners II. Contact your training instructor for more information. AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC) - The Canine Good Citizen Program lays the foundation for other AKC activities such as obedience, agility, tracking, and performance events. As you work with your dog to teach the CGC skills, you'll discover the many benefits and joys of training your dog. Training will enhance the bond between you and your dog. Dogs that have a solid obedience education are a joy to live with-they respond well to living with their human family. This is a moderately advanced class for dogs who have had previous training. Dogs participating in this class are expected to already have solid basic skills such as sit, down, heel, stay, and "leave it". The AKC Canine Good Citizen class is for dogs that have completed a beginning obedience class. Therapy Dog Training - Therapy dogs and their volunteer handlers serve communities by visiting nursing homes, hospitals, libraries, schools, hospices, individuals and other institutions and situations where they are needed. A dog must be a minimum of one (1) year of age, healthy, and have a sound temperament. Each dog must pass a temperament evaluation for suitability to become a therapy dog, which includes the American Kennel Club’s Canine Good Citizen Test (CGC). The test will also include the evaluation of the dog’s behavior around people with the use of some type of service equipment (wheelchairs, crutches, etc.). Dogs participating in this class are expected to already have solid basic skills such as sit, down, heel, stay, and leave it. This class is not a beginning obedience class. There will be a certified Therapy Dog International (TDI) evaluator present for testing. To qualify as a Therapy Dog International ® (TDI) Therapy Dog your dog must pass the Canine Good Citizen Test and additional TDI test requirements. It is best to start puppies as soon as possible. The Full Circle Obedience School Puppy Class is for puppies up to 7 months old.* Tiny breeds may attend puppy class up to 18 months of age. Large breeds that are 7 months of age or over at the time of enrollment should not enroll in puppy class. They should be enrolled in a Basic Obedience and Home Manners.
