Full Circle Obedience School
Classes

Our mission at Full Circle Obedience School is to help dog owners build good relationships with their companions through correct structure and communication. We teach you how to train your dog to respond to the first command even when distracted! Our professional, and positive based classes are the key to happy dogs and happy owners. We use motivational techniques balanced with fair corrections that encourage the utmost in willingness from your dog.

Full Circle Obedience School offers the following classes:

Puppy - This is excellent foundation and socialization for all dogs whether they will be well-behaved pets, shown in conformation, exhibited in obedience, or used for hunting or herding. Puppy Classes also help prevent problem fearfulness and aggression. It is best to start puppies as soon as possible. The Full Circle Obedience School Puppy Class is for puppies aged from 9 weeks to 6 months old. Tiny breeds may attend puppy class up to 1 year of age. Large breeds that are 5 months of age or over at the time of enrollment should not enroll in puppy class. They should be enrolled in a Basic Obedience and Home Manners class.

Basic Obedience and Home Manners - Does your dog drag you on your walks? Does she dash out the front door and flatten guests, or run away when you call him? Does he still bite your hands or clothes in play? Is she inconsistent in responding to simple commands in public? Then you need this class. The Basic Obedience and Home Manners class is for dogs 6 months of age and over (large breed puppies 5 months or older).

Canine Good Citizen (CGC) - If your dog needs distraction training, or if you would like your dog to be able to participate in visiting hospitals, schools, or nursing facilities, then your dog will benefit from the challenge of our Canine Good Citizen Class. The Canine Good Citizen Class is a moderately advanced class for the dog who has had previous group classes.

Therapy Dog Training (TDI) - To qualify as a Therapy Dog International ® (TDI) Therapy Dog your dog must pass the Canine Good Citizen Test and additional TDI test requirements. For more information go to the Therapy Dog International (TDI) page.

Our Lady in Red is now a certified Therapy Dog!!

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP)       Months of training have resulted in the official designation of "Certified Therapy Dog"  for Calie Robertson of Oklahoma City, OK.   Known also as "Our Lady in Red" in the AKC dog world,  she successfully passed Monday night the many requirements of the Therapy Dog International organization.   Accepting a friendly stranger, sitting politely for brushing and petting, walking (heeling) on a loose leash,  sit and down on command, staying in place,  coming when called, supervised separation, and not reacting to distractions (especially wheel-c hairs and walkers) represent several of  the main elements of current TDI requirements.

Tammy Robertson, Calie's trainer and Mom, was spotted running deliriously in the parking lot after the test.  "Daily 5am and 5pm Dog Park workouts, confronting total strangers at the Home Depot requesting dog hugs, finding doggie treats in every load of laundry for the past 6 months, and too often reciting "Sit, Stay, Down" to my confused hair care clients - its been quite the challenge these past several months,"  stated Tammy matter-of-factly after the successful TDI tests.

Taking on the role of weekend obedience Coach, Calie's Dad, Jim Robertson, did his best Vince Lombardi imitation, barking out instructions inside and out of local PET SMART stores.  Now known by OKC PET SMART personnel as, "that guy who comes in with the good-looking red Golden, but who doesn't ever buy anything",  Jim told local reporters  "I felt we had a good game plan going into the tests, she was focused, had her game face on, stayed within herself, took one test at a time, came out with everything she had, believed in herself, kept her eyes on Tammy,  and despite a couple of questionable officiating calls, we were lucky to come out with a win, er Therapy Dog certificate.  She made her parents proud!"

Calie is now eligible to visit nursing homes, hospitals, schools, and any other institutions in need of her canine help!

Thank you Kaylan and staff! You guys are GRRRRReat!!

Full Circle Obedience School classes are one hour in length and run for six weeks. The class fee is $110.00

The $110.00 class fee includes approximately thirty dollars worth of training materials including:
    A good quality leather leash
    A training collar
    Complete instruction manual.

In obedience training, as with all things, you get what you pay for. You could waste your time with inferior training, but why not get it done right the first time?

Full Circle Obedience School employs instructors who are tested and endorsed by the National Association of Dog Obedience Instructors (NADOI), and are active participants in obedience competition, seminars/workshops, and teach other educational programs to children and adults.

Foundation or Basic obedience skills are the most important tool for a dog to know.  At Full Circle (referred to as FC) you get the very best training from some of the best instructors in the country.  When Lewis started FC he was a scared little puppy that on the first night of class sat up against the wall shaking.  Wouldn't walk, wouldn't even budge!  Taking the classes at FC allowed Lewis to become the most wonderful, confident show dog in CONFORMATION (yes, you read that right, conformation), which allowed us to obtain his conformation championship as well as obtain the title of TOP TWENTY show dog for Toy Fox Terriers in 2007!  We were also able to obtain our Canine Good Citizenship Certificate as well as Therapy Dog International Certificate to where we do therapy dog work through Petting Paws Therapy Dogs, which is so much fun!  If it weren't for the foundation training that Lewis got he would not have been able to accomplish that.  Thank you FC for the GREAT job you do and the service you provide!  If it weren't for FC, Lewis and I would not have had the foundation that we needed to accomplish what we did.
